In 2014, one in five Canadians 15 years and older reported that in the 12 months preceding the survey they had been the victim of at least one of the eight crimes measured by the General Social Survey. This proportion was one in four 10 years earlier.
Employment Insurance Coverage Survey, 2014
The rate of eligibility for receiving regular Employment Insurance benefits was 83.1% in 2014, down from 85.8% in 2013, but in line with the 83.0% average seen over the previous 10 years. The decline in 2014 was most notable among youths aged 15 to 24 and men of all ages.
