Canada’s balance of international payments, third quarter 2021
Canada’s current account balance (on a seasonally adjusted basis) remained in a surplus position in the third quarter, as overall international receipts exceeded payments by $1.4 billion.
Industrial product and raw materials price indexes, October 2021
The Industrial Product Price Index increased 1.3% month over month in October and 16.7% year over year. The Raw Materials Price Index was up 4.8% on a monthly basis in October and 38.4% year over year.
Commercial rents in key Canadian economic markets, third quarter 2021
The Commercial Rents Services Price Index is now available for the third quarter of 2021.
Railway carloadings, September 2021
In September, the volume of cargo carried by Canadian railways reached 30.8 million tonnes, down slightly (-0.9%) from September 2020.
Monthly estimates of business openings and closures, August 2021
In August 2021, the number of business closures outpaced business openings for the first time since May 2020. By consequence, the number of active businesses decreased by 0.6% (-5,197). Nevertheless, the number of active businesses was above its February 2020 level for the fourth consecutive month.
Poultry and egg statistics, November 2021
Data on stocks of frozen eggs and poultry meats, as well as edible dried egg products, are now available for November. Data on the placements of hatchery chicks and turkey poults are available for October, and data on egg production are available for September.
