Energy statistics, August 2022
Primary energy production rose 7.7% in August. This was the sixth consecutive monthly year-over-year increase, mainly on the strength of crude oil (+5.1%) and natural gas (+4.8%).
Census of Environment: Protected and conserved ocean and coastal ecosystems
In 2021, 13.9% of Canada’s ocean and coastal ecosystems were conserved, representing an area of 798,480 km2. Almost two-thirds (64.7%) of this area were located in the Arctic Ocean, compared with 21.3% in the Atlantic Ocean and 13.9% in the Pacific Ocean.
Retail Commodity Survey, August 2022
Retail sales reached $64.6 billion in August, an increase of 8.7% compared with the same month in 2021. Higher sales were reported in 18 of the 19 commodity classes.
Farm product prices, September 2022
Prices received by farmers in September for grains, oilseeds, specialty crops, cattle, hogs, poultry, eggs, and dairy products are now available at the provincial level.
Use of child care in the evenings or on weekends, 2022
Data tables on the use of evening and weekend child care from the 2022 Survey on Before and After School Care in Canada are now available.
Traffic flow dashboard, October 2022 (revised data)
Statistics Canada has launched the Traffic Flow Dashboard as a source of experimental statistics to provide information on the traffic flow on selected road segments in the cities of Calgary and Toronto.
