Canada’s international transactions in securities, August 2016
Foreign investment in Canadian securities totalled $12.7 billion in August, led by acquisitions of Canadian bonds on the secondary market. At the same time, Canadian investment in foreign securities slowed to $1.6 billion. This resulted in a net inflow of funds of $11.1 billion into the Canadian economy in the month.
Canada’s international trade in services, 2015
Canada’s deficit on international transactions in services edged up $0.3 billion to $24.5 billion in 2015. The deficit with non-US countries widened by $2.2 billion, while the deficit with the United States narrowed by $1.9 billion to its lowest level since 2009.
Quarterly Retail Commodity Survey, second quarter 2016
Retail sales totalled $139.7 billion in the second quarter, up 3.6% from the second quarter of 2015. Higher sales were recorded in 9 of 10 commodity groups.

Cement, August 2016
Cement manufacturers produced 1.21 million tonnes of cement products in August, up 0.3% from July, but down 5.2% from August 2015.
