Wholesale trade, July 2018
Wholesale sales rose 1.5% to $63.9 billion in July, more than offsetting the 0.9% decline in June. Sales were up in four of seven subsectors, representing approximately 66% of total wholesale sales.
Study: Women-owned Enterprises in Canada
There were 275,300 women-owned enterprises on average each year from 2005 to 2013, employing 828,700 workers. Women-owned enterprises accounted for 18% of all private enterprises and 15% of employment in private enterprises (for which the gender of business ownership could be identified).
Natural gas transmission, storage and distribution, July 2018
Natural gas transmission pipelines received 567.6 million gigajoules of natural gas from fields, gathering systems and plants in July, up 5.7% from the same month in 2017. The vast majority of receipts were in Alberta (68.8%) and British Columbia (29.1%).
Oil and gas extraction, 2017
Total revenue for the Canadian oil and gas extraction industry increased 34.9% to $118.5 billion in 2017, following a 10.9% decline in 2016.
