Monthly Survey of Manufacturing, February 2017
Manufacturing sales edged down 0.2% in February to $53.6 billion, following three consecutive monthly increases.
Job vacancies, fourth quarter 2016
Job vacancies rose 6.3% from the fourth quarter of 2015 to 375,000 in the fourth quarter, following little year-over-year change in the third quarter. Meanwhile, the job vacancy rate increased 0.1 percentage points to 2.4%.
New Housing Price Index, February 2017
The New Housing Price Index (NHPI) rose 0.4% in February compared with the previous month. Ontario accounted for the majority of the gain, as new house prices increased in all 10 of its surveyed metropolitan areas.
New Lending Services Price Index, fourth quarter 2016
The New Lending Services Price Index decreased 1.9% in the fourth quarter of 2016, following a 3.2% increase in the previous quarter. Higher yields on longer-term government bonds brought the lending spreads down and contributed to the decrease of the index.
Quarterly Retail Commodity Survey, fourth quarter 2016
Retail sales in the fourth quarter of 2016 rose 3.2% compared to the previous year, reaching $141.1 billion.
