Monthly Survey of Manufacturing, February 2021
Manufacturing sales decreased 1.6% to $55.4 billion in February, following a 3.4% increase in January. Lower sales of motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts were largely responsible for the decline.

According to flash estimates, the Industrial Product Price Index increased 1.6% in March.
Canadians’ well-being in year one of the pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic has had profound economic and social impacts on Canada. Much attention has been placed on the immediate health effects of the pandemic and the state of the labour market. However, many other aspects of the quality of life, or well-being, of Canadians have also received significant attention. This study brings together diverse findings from Statistics Canada and other sources to illuminate changes in quality of life since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Research and development personnel, 2018
The number of research and development (R&D) personnel in Canada rose 2.8% in 2018 to 244,450 full-time equivalents (FTEs). This was the second consecutive year in which the number of R&D personnel rose.
National culture indicators, first quarter of 2016 to fourth quarter of 2020
Quarterly estimates on culture and sport are released today for the first time. The National Culture Indicators include quarterly data on gross domestic product (GDP), output and jobs, from the product perspective.
The COVID-19 Risk/Reward Assessment Tool
The COVID-19 Risk/Reward Assessment Tool measures the risk of COVID-19 exposure by occupation, through the COVID-19 Risk Index based on job and worker characteristics. It also measures the importance of different sectors to the economy, including the size of employment (pre-pandemic), change in employment, or sector centrality (how important a sector is to the functioning of all other sectors in the economy). The tool can be used to help policymakers determine for which sectors, or which occupation groups within sectors, to implement or ease restrictions as the pandemic evolves.
