Employment Insurance, February 2022
Approximately 565,000 Canadians received regular Employment Insurance (EI) benefits in February, down by 68,000 (-10.8%) from a month earlier.
Canada’s Core Public Infrastructure Survey: Public transit assets, 2020
A total of 446 public organizations owned public transit assets in Canada in 2020. Larger urban municipalities owned 80% of public transit rolling stock, and just over half (56%) of these municipalities had an asset management plan in place in 2020.
Travel between Canada and other countries, February 2022
In February 2022, the number of international arrivals to Canada increased compared with February 2021, but remained well below 2020 levels, before the COVID-19 pandemic.
New motor vehicle registrations, fourth quarter 2021
There were 1,646,609 new motor vehicles registered in 2021, increasing 6.5% from 2020. By quarter, the most new motor vehicles were registered in the second quarter (486,592), and the least were registered in the fourth quarter (337,571). More new motor vehicles were registered in all provinces in 2021 and in percentage terms, the largest increases were observed in Prince Edward Island (+49.4%), followed by British Columbia (+13.1%) and Quebec (+7.9%).
