Payroll employment, earnings and hours, June 2016
Average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees were $958 in June, up 0.4% from the previous month. Compared with 12 months earlier, average weekly earnings increased 0.5%.
Quarterly financial statistics for enterprises, second quarter 2016
Canadian corporations earned $72.9 billion in operating profits in the second quarter, down 3.4% from the previous quarter.
Machinery and Equipment Price Index, second quarter 2016
The Machinery and Equipment Price Index (MEPI) decreased 5.4% in the second quarter, following a 2.4% increase in the first quarter. The import component was down 6.5% over the period, while the domestic component decreased 1.9%.
Construction Union Wage Rate Index, July 2016
The Construction Union Wage Rate Index (including supplements) for Canada was unchanged in July compared with the previous month. The composite index increased 0.2% in the 12 months to July.
Dairy statistics, June 2016
The volume of milk and cream sold in June declined 0.9% compared with June 2015 to 229 815 kilolitres.
Fertilizer Shipments Survey, fourth quarter 2015/2016
Shipments of urea within Canada decreased by 51 000 tonnes (-1.8%) compared with the fourth quarter of the 2014/2015 fertilizer year to 2.8 million tonnes in the fourth quarter of 2015/2016.
Characteristics of international overnight travellers, first quarter 2016
Canadian residents made 8.2 million overnight trips abroad in the first quarter, spending $11.0 billion. Of these trips, 4.4 million were to the United States, accounting for $4.9 billion in spending.
