National balance sheet and financial flow accounts, third quarter 2017
National wealth, the value of non-financial assets in the Canadian economy, rose 0.3% to $10,557.9 billion at the end of the third quarter, the second consecutive quarter of slow growth.
Distributions of household economic accounts for income, consumption, saving and wealth of Canadian households, 2016
New estimates for the distributions of household disposable income, final consumption expenditure, net saving and wealth indicate that households in the top disposable income quintile held 48.9% of total household wealth, while the bottom disposable income quintile held 5.8% in 2016.
New Housing Price Index, October 2017
Ottawa was the only market with notable growth in new house prices in October. The national figure was moderated by unchanged prices in more than half of the surveyed cities.
Air fares, second quarter 2017
Base air fares in Canada, domestic and international combined, averaged $230.70 in the second quarter, up 6.3% from the same quarter of 2016, reversing the downward trend of the previous eight quarters. Base air fares do not include taxes and user fees.
Physical flow accounts: Intensities and demand-based measures, 2014
Personal expenditure by households (45.7%) continued to be the primary driver of energy use in Canada in 2014, down slightly from 46.0% in 2013. Demand for international exports initiated 38.0% of energy use in 2014, up from 36.7% in 2013.
Ecosystem accounting: Thematic accounts, 1971 to 2016
Statistics Canada has begun to develop ecosystem accounts. These accounts focus on tracking ecosystems, since they are important assets that generate flows of goods and services. One way to start to examine if ecosystems are under pressure is to monitor the density of human population.
