In the early 1950s, about a quarter of Canadian women aged 25 to 54 participated in the labour force, meaning that they either had a job outside the home or were looking for one. By 2014, that rate had more than tripled to 82%.

The two major Canadian air carriers flew 3.9 million passengers on scheduled and charter services in October, up 4.4% from the same month in 2014. Air Canada carried 2.3 million passengers, up 7.8% from the same month a year earlier, while WestJet carried 1.6 million passengers, relatively unchanged from the same month a year earlier.
