Business and employment dynamics data, 2023
Following two consecutive years of increases, the business entry rate declined in 2023, falling from 13.9% in 2022 to 12.3%. This decrease followed an increase of 2.2 percentage points in 2021 and a slight growth of 0.2 percentage points in 2022.
Tourism investment, 2024
In 2024, tourism industries invested $34.4 billion in non-residential capital assets, accounting for 7.3% of all non-residential capital investment in Canada.
Social Policy Simulation Database and Model, version 34.0
The Social Policy Simulation Database and Model (SPSD/M), version 34.0, is now available. This model update incorporates changes to income taxes and government transfers that were announced prior to December 17, 2025. It is based on 2022 data and can be used to study the effects of changes to federal and provincial tax and benefit programs on families and governments from 1997 through 2030.
Provisional death counts, January 2024 to November 2025
Today’s release includes new and updated adjusted counts of death from the Canadian Vital Statistics Death Database, covering the period from January 6, 2024, to December 6, 2025. The Provisional Deaths in Canada Dashboard, which provides the most recent insights on mortality trends, as well as interactive data visualization tools, has been updated.
