Canada’s balance of international payments, fourth quarter 2025
Canada’s current account deficit (on a seasonally adjusted basis) narrowed by $4.6 billion to $0.7 billion in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Payroll employment, earnings and hours, and job vacancies, December 2025
The number of employees receiving pay and benefits from their employer—measured as “payroll employment” in the Survey of Employment, Payrolls and Hours—decreased by 35,400 (-0.2%) in December, following little change in November. On a year-over-year basis, payroll employment was down 28,300 (-0.2%) in December.
Farm cash receipts, January to December 2025
Farm cash receipts in Canada totalled $101.4 billion in 2025, up $3.3 billion (+3.4%) from 2024. In 2025, receipts for livestock (+$5.3 billion) drove the increase while lower receipts for crops (-$871.5 million) and program payments (-$1.1 billion) moderated the rise in total receipts.

Poultry and egg statistics are available for Canada and the provinces. Data on stocks of frozen eggs and poultry meats, as well as edible dried egg products, are available for February 2026. Data on the placements of hatchery chicks and turkey poults are available for January 2025, and data on egg production are available for December 2025.

Major Canadian airlines flew 7.3 million passengers on scheduled and charter services in December, edging down 0.4% from December 2024.
