Building permits, November 2018
Canadian municipalities issued $8.3 billion worth of building permits in November, up 2.6% from October. Higher construction intentions for commercial buildings drove most of the gain.
National tourism indicators, third quarter 2018
Tourism spending in Canada rose 0.8% in the third quarter, following a 1.1% gain in the second quarter. Increased tourism spending by Canadians at home more than offset decreased spending by international visitors in Canada.
New Housing Price Index, November 2018
New housing prices at the national level were unchanged for a fourth consecutive month.
Commercial Rents Services Price Index, third quarter 2018
The Commercial Rents Services Price Index rose 0.4% in the third quarter, following a 0.3% gain the previous quarter. The increase was attributable to higher average rents for all types of buildings surveyed, namely retail, office, as well as industrial buildings and warehouses.
Female offenders in Canada, 2017
Overall, females account for a smaller proportion of offenders in Canada and the types of offences they commit are often less serious in nature relative to their male counterparts. For example, females are more often accused of property crime than violent crime. A greater understanding of crimes committed by females can inform criminal justice policies and programs.

Quarterly data for Government Finance Statistics (GFS), a system that presents fiscal statistics using the international standard GFS developed by the International Monetary Fund, are now available. This standard allows consistent aggregation and analysis between participating countries.
