The number of employees receiving pay and benefits from their employer—measured as “payroll employees” in the Survey of Employment, Payrolls and Hours—increased by 23,300 (+0.1%) in May, excluding federal government public administration.
Police-reported crime statistics in Canada, 2022
Police-reported crime in Canada, as measured by the Crime Severity Index (CSI), increased for the second consecutive year, up 4% in 2022. The Violent CSI rose in 2022, reaching its highest point since 2007. The Non-violent CSI also increased in 2022 but remained lower than before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Millers milled 281 138 tonnes of wheat in June, while wheat flour production totalled 213 307 tonnes.
Oilseed crushing statistics, June 2023
Oilseed processors crushed 772 345 tonnes of canola in June. Oil production totalled 323 208 tonnes, while meal production totalled 457 628 tonnes.
