Canadian international merchandise trade, May 2017
Canada’s merchandise trade deficit with the world reached $1.1 billion in May, up from a $552 million deficit in April. Imports rose 2.4% and exports were up 1.3%.
Chain Fisher real export and import values, May 2017
The monthly chain Fisher real dollar values (reference year 2007) for Canadian international merchandise trade are available for May.
Export and import price indexes, May 2017
Current-weighted and fixed-weighted export and import price indexes (2007=100) on a customs or balance of payments basis are now available, based on the 2007 North American Product Classification System.
Building permits, May 2017
Canadian municipalities issued $7.7 billion worth of building permits in May, up 8.9% from April and the third highest value on record. The national increase was mainly the result of higher construction intentions for residential buildings, particularly in Ontario. Seven provinces registered gains in the total value of building permits in May.
Commercial Rents Services Price Index, first quarter 2017
The Commercial Rents Services Price Index decreased 0.2% in the first quarter following a 0.1% gain the previous quarter. The decrease was mainly attributable to lower average rents for retail buildings.
