Canada’s international transactions in securities, April 2016
Foreign investment in Canadian securities amounted to $15.5 billion in April, the fourth straight month of relatively strong activity. At the same time, Canadian investors acquired $4.7 billion of foreign securities, mainly debt instruments.
Canada’s population estimates, first quarter 2016
According to preliminary estimates, Canada’s population was 36,155,487 on April 1, 2016, an increase of 106,966 from January 1, 2016. This was the highest gain for a first quarter since 1989 (+115,420).
Advertising and related services, 2014
The advertising and related services industry group reported $8.5 billion in total operating revenue in 2014, a 2.2% increase from 2013. Total operating expenses rose 1.8% to $7.4 billion in 2014, resulting in an operating profit margin of 12.7%.
