Retail trade, April 2019
Retail sales rose for the third consecutive month, edging up 0.1% to $51.5 billion in April. Excluding sales at motor vehicle and parts dealers and gasoline stations, retail sales were down 0.1%.
Investment in building construction, April 2019
Total investment in building construction increased 2.6% in April to $14.8 billion.
Indigenous Statistics Portal
Today is National Indigenous Peoples Day in Canada, and to honour this occasion, Statistics Canada is releasing the Indigenous Statistics Portal. The portal is part of Statistics Canada’s Indigenous Statistical Capacity Development Initiative, and provides a central location on the agency’s website where users can find links to data products about First Nations people, Métis and Inuit.
Government Finance Statistics, first quarter 2019
Quarterly data for Government Finance Statistics (GFS), a system that presents fiscal statistics using the international standard GFS developed by the International Monetary Fund, are now available. This standard allows consistent aggregation and analysis between participating countries.
Monthly Mineral Production Survey, April 2019
Data for April from the Monthly Mineral Production Survey, including the Monthly Survey of Smelters and Metal Refineries, are now available on the Monthly Statistics of Mineral Production page of the Natural Resources Canada website.
Refined petroleum products, May 2019
Data on the production, inventories and domestic consumption of refined petroleum products for Canada are now available for May upon request.
