Gross domestic product by industry, April 2016
After decreasing in February and March, real gross domestic product edged up 0.1% in April. Widespread gains, notably in manufacturing, utilities and the public sector, were largely offset by a significant decline in non-conventional oil extraction.
Payroll employment, earnings and hours, April 2016
Average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees were $956 in April, little changed from the previous month (-0.3%) and from 12 months earlier (+0.2%).
Industrial product and raw materials price indexes, May 2016
The Industrial Product Price Index increased 1.1% in May, mainly due to higher prices for energy and petroleum products. The Raw Materials Price Index rose 6.7%, led by a gain in prices for crude energy products.
For-hire Motor Carrier Freight Services Price Index, first quarter 2016
The For-hire Motor Carrier Freight Services Price Index decreased 1.3% in the first quarter, largely reflecting falling fuel prices. This was the seventh consecutive quarterly decline.
Couriers and Messengers Services Price Index, May 2016
The Couriers and Messengers Services Price Index (CMSPI) increased 0.8% in May. The couriers component rose 1.1%, while the local messengers and local delivery component decreased 0.3%.
Food services and drinking places, April 2016
Sales in the food services and drinking places subsector rose 1.0% to $5.4 billion in April. Prices for food purchased from restaurants were up 2.7% year over year in April, following a 2.6% increase the previous month.
