The total value of investment in building construction decreased $448.3 million (-1.9%) to $23.4 billion in January.
Study: Does screen time make a difference? A longitudinal study of youth screen time and well-being, 2019 and 2023
Today, Statistics Canada provides new insights on the use of screen time among youth by examining the screen time patterns of a cohort of youth at two points in time: in 2019, when they were aged 12 to 17, and in 2023, when the same group was aged 16 to 21.
Study: Satisfaction with time use, 2022
Today, using the 2022 Time Use Survey, Statistics Canada is releasing new data and analyses on satisfaction with time use. This release includes two new data tables, the Fact Sheet: Satisfaction with Time Use and the infographic “Satisfaction with time use, 2022.”
Monthly credit aggregates, January 2026
Data on the monthly credit aggregates for January 2026 are now available.
2021 Canadian Social Environment Typology: A Geographic Classification Tool to Measure Health and Social Inequalities in Canada
The 2021 Canadian Social Environment Typology (CanSET), developed by the Centre for Health Data Integration and Direct Measures at Statistics Canada, is a new version of the neighbourhood-level classifications tool. Derived from 30 socioeconomic, demographic, ethnocultural and housing variables from the 2021 Census of Population data, this version reflects more recent population patterns than the 2016 version. The 2021 CanSET data is released today along with a user guide that provides technical documentation and practical guidance for researchers and analysts.
