Payroll employment, earnings and hours, and job vacancies, January 2026
The number of employees receiving pay and benefits from their employer—measured as “payroll employment” in the Survey of Employment, Payrolls and Hours—increased by 45,600 (+0.2%) in January following a decrease of 10,600 (-0.1%) in December. On a year-over-year basis, payroll employment was up by 33,500 (+0.2%) in January 2026.
Family law cases in civil courts, 2024/2025
There were 278,503 family law cases active in court at some point in 2024/2025 in the six provinces and three territories that reported data to the Civil Court Survey. This represented around 30% of the active caseload in Canadian civil courts in that fiscal year and was 14% higher than in the previous fiscal year.

The Physical Flow Account for Plastic Material is an environmental-economic account that estimates the flow of plastic through the Canadian economy. The account provides annual estimates by product category, resin type, and province and territory. The time-series starts in 2012 and now includes 2022.
