Gross domestic product by industry, January 2016
Real gross domestic product rose 0.6% in January, a fourth consecutive monthly increase. Manufacturing, retail trade, and mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction were major contributors to growth in January.
Payroll employment, earnings and hours, January 2016
Average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees were $953 in January, down 0.7% from the previous month. Compared with 12 months earlier, average weekly earnings were little changed (+0.4%).
Food services and drinking places, January 2016
Sales in the food services and drinking places subsector (+0.1%) totalled $5.1 billion in January, showing little change from December. Prices for food purchased from restaurants were up 2.5% year over year in January, following a 2.8% increase the previous month.
Farm operating revenues and expenses, 2014 (final)
Average operating revenues per farm in Canada amounted to $418,080 in 2014, up 7.7% from 2013, according to taxation records.
Newspaper publishers, 2014
The newspaper publishers industry generated operating revenue of $4.1 billion in 2014. Operating expenses were reported at $3.7 billion, which resulted in an operating profit margin of 9.5%.
Couriers and Messengers Services Price Index, February 2016
The Couriers and Messengers Services Price Index (CMSPI) decreased 0.9% in February, mainly reflecting lower fuel surcharge rates. Both the couriers (-1.0%) and the local messengers and local delivery (-0.4%) components declined.
