Building permits, January 2018
Canadian municipalities issued $8.4 billion in building permits in January, up 5.6% following a 2.5% rise in December. The January increase mainly stemmed from higher construction intentions for multi-family dwellings in Ontario.
New Housing Price Index, January 2018
Nationally, new house prices were unchanged for a second consecutive month.
Aircraft movement statistics: Small airports, November 2017
Take-offs and landings at 125 Canadian airports without air traffic control towers reached 48,142 movements in November.
Sawmills, December 2017
Lumber production fell 18.6% from November, with sawmills producing 4 826.5 thousand cubic metres of lumber in December. Declines in production during this reference period are common due to the holiday season. Production was 0.8% lower than in December 2016.
