New Housing Price Index, March 2017
The New Housing Price Index (NHPI) rose 0.2% in March compared with the previous month. Higher new house prices in Vancouver and Toronto led the gain.
Biannual Survey of Suppliers of Business Financing, second half of 2016
Credit conditions remained broadly unchanged during the second half of 2016. The Bank of Canada maintained its policy interest rate at 0.50% and subsequently the prime rate remained unchanged at 2.70%. Corporations in Canada recorded a slightly lower debt-to-equity ratio, which fell from 0.957 in the first half of 2016 to 0.945 in the second half, according to the Quarterly Survey of Financial Statements.

Data on the number of US residents entering Canada by car in April are now available upon request. Data are available by the visitors’ state of residence and province of entry into Canada.
Fertilizer Shipments Survey, third quarter 2016/2017
Shipments of urea within Canada increased by 43 000 tonnes (+2.3%) compared with the third quarter of the 2015/2016 fertilizer year to 1 893 000 tonnes in the third quarter of 2016/2017.
Asphalt roofing, March 2017
Shipments of asphalt shingles totalled 4.2 million metric bundles in March, up 11.5% from the previous month. Shipments were 1.0% higher in comparison to March 2016.
