Monthly Survey of Manufacturing, March 2020
Manufacturing sales fell 9.2% to $50.8 billion in March, the lowest level since June 2016 and the largest percentage decline since December 2008, during the previous recession.

The spectator sports, event promoters, artists and related industries generated a combined operating revenue of $9.7 billion in 2018, up 0.7% from 2017. Nevertheless, this increase was smaller than what was observed in 2016 (+4.4%) and in 2017 (+6.5%).

In 2017, the vast majority of the 73.3 million freight shipments in Canada were hauled by truck (90%). Shipments by rail accounted for about 9% of the total, and shipments by air accounted for the rest.

Social Policy Simulation Database and Model, COVID-19 glass box, version 1.0
A special version of the Social Policy Simulation Model (SPSM), is now available. It allows users to modify the Social Policy Simulation Database (SPSD) in order to model various labour scenarios in 2020 to better reflect the new COVID-19 reality. It also incorporates federal income support benefits for individuals and families announced in Canada’s COVID-19 Economic Response Plan prior to April 20, 2020.
