Employment Insurance, March 2022
In March, 524,000 Canadians received regular Employment Insurance benefits, down by 41,000 (-7.2%) from February.
Industrial product and raw materials price indexes, April 2022
The Industrial Product Price Index rose 0.8% month over month in April 2022 and was up 16.4% year over year. The Raw Materials Price Index decreased 2.0% on a monthly basis in April 2022 and rose 38.4% year over year.
New Housing Price Index, April 2022
In April, new home prices for Canada showed some signs of cooling from their average increase of 1.1% in the first three months of the year, as they rose 0.3% compared with March. Prices were up in 10 of the 27 census metropolitan areas (CMAs) surveyed, down in 1 and unchanged in the remainder of the CMAs from March to April.
Urban public transit, March 2022
In March 2022, urban transit ridership continued to grow, with 85.8 million trips taken on Canada’s urban transit networks.
Monthly Mineral Production Survey, March 2022
During the first quarter of 2022, the shipment value of minerals recorded an overall increase of 10.0% compared with the previous quarter. Despite the drop registered in January, the subsequent increases posted in February and March were enough to maintain growth for the quarter.
