Gross domestic product, income and expenditure, first quarter 2018
Real gross domestic product grew 0.3% in the first quarter, following an increase of 0.4% in each of the previous two quarters. Final domestic demand rose by 0.5%.
Gross domestic product by industry, March 2018
Real gross domestic product rose 0.3% in March as 15 of 20 industrial sectors grew, led by the mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction sector.
Payroll employment, earnings and hours, March 2018
Average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees were $997 in March, unchanged from the previous month. Earnings were up 3.1% compared with 12 months earlier, mostly due to increases in the last six months of 2017.
Violent victimization of lesbians, gays and bisexuals in Canada, 2014
Canadians who self-identified as lesbian, gay or bisexual (LGB) were more likely than their heterosexual counterparts to experience violent victimization in the previous 12 months.
Monthly civil aviation statistics, March 2018
The six Canadian Level I air carriers flew 7.4 million passengers on scheduled and charter services in March, up 6.7% from March 2017 and continuing the upward year-over-year monthly trend that began in April 2014.
Monthly Passenger Bus and Urban Transit, March 2018
Total operating revenues (excluding subsidies) for urban transit companies were $365.2 million in March, up 4.3% from the same month last year.
Couriers and Messengers Services Price Index, April 2018
The Couriers and Messengers Services Price Index (CMSPI) was unchanged in April, following six consecutive monthly increases. The couriers component was unchanged while the local messengers and local delivery component increased 0.6%.
