Canada’s international transactions in securities, September 2017
Foreign investment in Canadian securities totalled $16.8 billion in September, up from $9.8 billion in August. At the same time, Canadian investment in foreign securities slowed to $2.4 billion in September, after reaching $12.1 billion in August.

Manufacturing sales rose 0.5% to $53.7 billion in September, reflecting higher sales in the petroleum and coal product industry.
Deaths and causes of death, 2014
The total number of deaths in Canada reached 258,821 in 2014, the highest annual number recorded since the introduction of the Vital Statistics registration system in 1921. Every province and territory reported a record high number of deaths in 2014, except Nova Scotia, Yukon and Nunavut.
Spending on research and development in the higher education sector, 2015
Research and development (R&D) spending estimates for Canadian higher education institutions in 2015/2016 was $13.2 billion, up 2.8% from 2014/2015.
Aquaculture, 2016
Sales of aquaculture products and services increased 47.0% from 2015 to $1.339 billion in 2016. The increase in sales was largely attributable to higher prices of finfish products, as finfish production rose a modest 6.0%.
Characteristics of international overnight travellers, 2016
The number of overnight travellers to Canada rose in 2016 to its highest level since 2002. Travellers from abroad made 19.8 million overnight trips to Canada in 2016, spending $19.6 billion. This was 11.0% more overnight trips than 2015.

Consumer goods rental sector, 2016
Operating revenue for the consumer goods rental and general rental centres industry groups increased 3.2%, from $2.52 billion in 2015 to $2.61 billion in 2016. Operating revenue of consumer goods rental rose 3.4% from 2015 to $2.1 billion in 2016. Operating revenue of general rental centres rose 2.5% to $491.2 million.
