Retail trade, September 2017
Retail sales edged up 0.1% to $49.1 billion in September. Higher sales at gasoline stations, particularly due to higher prices, were the main contributor to the gain. Excluding sales in this subsector, retail sales declined 0.2%.
Employment Insurance, September 2017
The number of regular Employment Insurance beneficiaries decreased by 11,600 (-2.2%) in September to 509,900. This decline follows a similar decrease in August (-2.4%) and continues the downward trend that began in October 2016.
Natural gas transmission, storage and distribution, September 2017
Natural gas transmission pipelines received 526.8 million gigajoules of natural gas from fields, gathering systems and plants in September. Six provinces posted receipts, with Alberta (73.4%) and British Columbia (24.2%) holding the majority.
Construction Union Wage Rate Index, October 2017
The Construction Union Wage Rate Index (including supplements) for Canada remained unchanged in October compared with the previous month. The composite index increased 1.0% in the 12 months to October.

Although there is a large research literature estimating the effects of income taxes on the labour supply decisions of young and middle-aged workers, the ways in which older workers respond to income taxation has received relatively little attention.

Data on major grain deliveries are now available for October.
Oilseed crushing statistics, October 2017
Oilseed processors crushed 870 998 tonnes of canola in October. Oil production totalled 385 406 tonnes, while meal production totalled 474 153 tonnes.
Milled wheat and wheat flour produced, September 2017
Millers milled 266 368 tonnes of wheat in September, while wheat flour production totalled 202 631 tonnes.
