Canadian Housing Statistics Program: New residential properties, 2022
The growth rate of the residential property stock of British Columbia accelerated from 2021 to 2022, compared with the previous period. Conversely, growth slowed down in Ontario, including in the Toronto census metropolitan area.
Leading indicator of international arrivals to Canada, September 2023
In September 2023, the number of international arrivals to Canada, including non-resident trips and returning Canadian-resident trips, increased from September 2022. All recovery rates have increased compared with September 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Provisional death counts and excess mortality, January 2021 to July 2023
In its commitment to keep Canadians informed of the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, today Statistics Canada is releasing new and updated provisional data on deaths, excess mortality and causes of death from the Canadian Vital Statistics Death Database. This includes an update to the Provisional deaths and excess mortality in Canada dashboard, which brings recent insights into the trends in excess mortality together with interactive data visualization tools.
Quality of life indicators from the Canadian Social Survey, second quarter 2023
Tables for 12 quality of life indicators have been updated to include Canadian Social Survey data from the second quarter. These indicators include life satisfaction, sense of meaning and purpose, future outlook, self-rated mental health, self-rated health, sense of belonging to local community, someone to count on, loneliness, financial well-being, satisfaction with time use, satisfaction with local environment and confidence in institutions.
Elementary–Secondary Education Survey, 2021/2022
Today, Statistics Canada is releasing data related to the 2021/2022 Elementary–Secondary Education Survey. This release includes information on counts of enrolments and graduates for programs in Canada’s public and private/independent elementary and secondary schools, as well as for home-schooled students. Data are available at the national, provincial, and territorial levels.

Data availability: Employer pension plans (trusteed pension funds), first quarter 2023
Data on trusteed pension funds (value of assets by foreign and domestic holdings, revenues, expenditures and net income) are now available for the first quarter.
