Payroll employment, earnings and hours, August 2016
Average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees were $960 in August, up 0.8% from the previous month. Compared with 12 months earlier, weekly earnings increased 1.6%, partly as a result of relatively low earnings in August 2015.
Manufacturing: The year 2015 in review
In 2015, Canadian manufacturing sales fell 1.5% to $609.5 billion, ending five consecutive years of growth. Sales declined in 9 of 21 industries, after decreasing in 3 of 21 industries in 2014. Constant dollar sales were down 0.9% to $550.8 billion, as a result of lower volumes of goods sold. According to the Industrial Product Price Index, the average price of manufactured goods decreased 0.9% in 2015.

The Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Rental and Leasing Services Price Index decreased 1.1% in the second quarter.
Construction Union Wage Rate Index, September 2016
The Construction Union Wage Rate Index (including supplements) for Canada was unchanged in September compared with the previous month. The composite index increased 0.6% in the 12 months to September.
