Monthly civil aviation statistics, August 2021
Major Canadian airlines carried 3.3 million passengers on scheduled and charter services in August, the most since the pandemic began. While this was almost triple the number of passengers carried in August 2020, it was about two-fifths (39.3%) of the pre-pandemic level reported in August 2019.
Aircraft movement statistics: Major airports, August 2021
In August, there were 423,522 aircraft movements at Canada’s major airports, up 4.1% from August 2020. While this was the highest number of movements since the onset of the pandemic in March 2020, it was three-quarters (74.8%) of the pre-pandemic level from August 2019.
Building construction price indexes, third quarter 2021
Residential building construction price growth slowed in the third quarter, amounting to 3.7% following a 7.6% increase in the second quarter. Similarly, non-residential building construction price growth slowed to 2.8% after reaching 3.9% last quarter, the highest level in 13 years.
