Building permits, August 2016
Municipalities issued $7.3 billion worth of building permits in August, up 10.4% from July. This marked the second consecutive monthly increase. The gain in August was mainly attributable to higher construction intentions in Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia.
Commercial Rents Services Price Index, second quarter 2016
The Commercial Rents Services Price Index increased 0.2% in the second quarter, following a 0.1% gain the previous quarter. Higher average rents for office and industrial buildings were offset by lower average rents for retail buildings.
Aircraft movement statistics: Major airports, July 2016
In July, there were 548,845 aircraft take-offs and landings at the 91 Canadian airports with NAV CANADA air traffic control towers and flight service stations, compared with 563,665 movements in July 2015.
