In July, 475,700 people received regular Employment Insurance benefits, an increase of 11,000 or 2.4% from June.
Investment in new housing construction, July 2018
Investment in new housing construction increased 1.7% year over year to $5.0 billion in July. The growth was driven solely by investment in apartment building construction, as construction of single, double and row houses all declined compared with July 2017.
Pipeline transportation of oil and other liquid petroleum products, July 2018
Pipelines in Canada received 22.0 million cubic metres of crude oil and equivalent products from fields and plants in July, up 1.3% compared with the same month a year earlier.
Construction Union Wage Rate Index, August 2018
The Construction Union Wage Rate Index (including supplements) for Canada was unchanged in August compared with the previous month. The composite index increased 0.8% in the 12 months to August.
