Payroll employment, earnings and hours, July 2018
Average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees were $997 in July, a decrease of 0.4% from the previous month. Compared with 12 months earlier, earnings increased 3.0%.
National tourism indicators, second quarter 2018
Tourism spending in Canada rose 1.2% in the second quarter, following increases of 0.2% in each of the previous two quarters. Growth was driven by increased tourism spending by Canadians at home, as households spent more on products such as accommodation and transport services.
Canada’s population estimates: Total population, July 1, 2018
According to preliminary estimates, Canada’s population was 37,058,856 on July 1, 2018, up 518,588 from July 1, 2017. This translates into an increase of approximately one person every minute over the last 12 months.

Demographic estimates for Canada, the provinces and the territories are now available for the second quarter. Revised estimates from the second quarter of 2001 to the first quarter of 2018 are also available. Demographic estimates up to and including the second quarter of 2016 are final.
Coverage estimates for the 2016 Census (final)
After each census collection period since 1961, Statistics Canada has conducted rigorous studies that combined a large survey and matches to administrative data in order to assess the quality of its census population counts. The Reverse Record Check Survey and the Census Overcoverage Study measure, respectively, the number of people missed and the number of people counted more than once on census reference day (May 10 for the 2016 Census).

The volume of rail freight carried in Canada totalled 32.8 million tonnes in July, up 9.5% from the same month a year earlier.
Monthly civil aviation statistics, July 2018
The six Canadian Level I air carriers flew a record 8.1 million passengers on scheduled and charter services in July, up 6.7% from July 2017 and continuing the upward year-over-year monthly trend that began in April 2014.

The price of desktop and similar computers, laptop and tablet computers, and servers decreased 0.2% in August.

The Commercial Software Price Index (CSPI) decreased 0.5% from July to August.
Milled wheat and wheat flour produced, July 2018
Millers milled 266 851 tonnes of wheat in July, while wheat flour production totalled 201 430 tonnes.
