Real gross domestic product edged up 0.1% in July, led by goods-producing industries.

The number of employees receiving pay or benefits from their employer—measured by the Survey of Employment, Payrolls and Hours—edged up by 12,900 (+0.1%) in July, bringing the total increase to nearly 1.3 million (+7.9%) since July 2021.
Aircraft movement statistics: Major airports, July 2022
In July, Canada’s major airports recorded a total of 524,233 aircraft movements. This was an increase of 24.6% from July 2021 and the first time in over two and a half years that movements have exceeded half a million.
Monthly civil aviation statistics, July 2022
Major Canadian airlines carried 6.7 million passengers on scheduled and charter services in July, surpassing 6 million for the second time since February 2020, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. This was more than three times the number of passengers carried in the same month of 2021 and over four-fifths (83.8%) of the July 2019 pre-pandemic level.
Motor vehicle fuel sales, 2021
The total volume of motor gasoline sold in Canada was 40.2 billion litres in 2021, an increase of 4.1% after an unprecedented annual decline of 13.9% in 2020. Total gasoline sales fell to a 20-year low during 2020, as restrictions to combat the COVID-19 pandemic had a detrimental effect on the demand for travel.

Data on stocks of frozen eggs and poultry meats, as well as edible dried egg products, are now available for September. Data on the placements of hatchery chicks and turkey poults are available for August 2022, and data on egg production are available for July 2022.
