Building permits, July 2016
Municipalities issued building permits worth $6.5 billion in July, up 0.8% from the previous month. The advance was largely the result of higher construction intentions for institutional and industrial buildings. Ontario and Alberta led the national increase.
Industrial capacity utilization rates, second quarter 2016
Canadian industries operated at 80.0% of their production capacity in the second quarter, down from 81.4% in the previous quarter.
New Housing Price Index, July 2016
The New Housing Price Index (NHPI) rose 0.4% in July compared with the previous month, driven mainly by new housing prices in the combined region of Toronto and Oshawa. Prices have increased at the national level for 16 consecutive months.
Registered apprenticeship training programs, 2014
In 2014, apprenticeship programs in Canada had more than 451,100 registrations, 349,700 of which were for programs already started in previous years. New registrations accounted for 93,500, while reinstatements totalled 8,000.
Scheduled air passenger origin and destination: Canada–United States, 2015
Over 21.9 million passengers travelled on scheduled air services between Canada and the United States in 2015, up 1.9% from 2014.
