Foreign direct investment, 2016
The stock of Canadian direct investment abroad rose 1.4% to $1,049.6 billion in 2016. Meanwhile, the stock of foreign direct investment in Canada increased 4.7% to $825.7 billion. As a result, Canada’s net direct investment position narrowed by $22.3 billion in 2016 to $223.9 billion.
Number and salaries of full-time teaching staff at Canadian universities, 2016/2017
Women account for an increasing proportion of full-time academic teaching staff in Canadian universities. Building diversity among academic teaching staff is an important consideration for universities for a number of reasons, including the increasing diversity of students and Canadian society. According to the Full-time University and College Academic Staff System (FT-UCASS), 40.2% of full-time academic teaching staff were women in 2016/2017, up from 37.6% in 2010/2011.

Oilseed processors crushed 821 990 tonnes of canola in March. Oil production totalled 358 861 tonnes, while meal production totalled 458 774 tonnes.

Millers milled 224 280 tonnes of wheat in February, while wheat flour production totalled 171 569 tonnes.
