Monthly Survey of Manufacturing, June 2019
Manufacturing sales fell 1.2% to $58.0 billion in June, following a 1.6% increase in May. The petroleum and coal product and food industries accounted for most of the decline in June. The primary metal industry posted the largest increase.
Telecommunications services price indexes, fourth quarter 2018
Prices for fixed telecommunications services (except Internet access) decreased 0.2% in the fourth quarter of 2018, following a 0.2% decline in the previous quarter. The decrease is consistent with the downward trend observed in the fourth quarter of each year since the beginning of the series in 2014.
Building construction price indexes, second quarter 2019
Prices for construction of residential buildings increased 0.6% in the second quarter of 2019, while the cost of construction of non-residential buildings was up 0.4%.
Food services and drinking places, June 2019
On a seasonally adjusted basis, sales in the food services and drinking places subsector increased for the fourth consecutive month, up 1.0% to $6.3 billion in June. Higher sales were reported in full-service restaurants (+1.0%), limited-service restaurants (+0.9%), drinking places (+3.6%) and special food services (+0.2%). The higher sales coincided with the Toronto Raptors playing in and winning the NBA championship finals in the first half of June.
