Monthly Survey of Manufacturing, October 2020
Manufacturing sales rose 0.3% to $54.1 billion in October on higher sales of non-durable products. Nevertheless, sales in the manufacturing sector were 3.0% below their pre-pandemic levels in February.
Study: Vulnerabilities related to COVID-19 among LGBTQ2+ Canadians
Today, Statistics Canada is releasing a new study using data from the 2018 Survey of Safety in Public and Private Spaces. This study examines perceptions of financial and housing insecurity among LGBTQ2+ people, who could be at particular risk during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Revenue and expenditures for public colleges, CEGEPs and polytechnics increase in 2018/2019
Similar to universities, student college fees represent an increasing share of revenues. They rose from one-quarter (24.8%) of total revenues in 2014/2015 to account for just under one-third (32.2%) of the $9.8 billion in total revenue for colleges in 2018/2019. This increasing share of revenue comes from international students, who pay up to four times more in tuition than Canadian students.
All industry groups in the amusement and recreation subsector experienced growth in 2019
Amusement and recreation industries reported a combined increase of 5.5% in their operating revenue, totalling $12.3 billion in 2019.
