Monthly Survey of Manufacturing, October 2019
Manufacturing sales declined 0.7% to $57.1 billion in October, the second consecutive monthly decrease. Lower sales in the transportation equipment and fabricated metal product industries were partly offset by higher sales in the petroleum and coal product industry.
Job vacancies, third quarter 2019
On a year-over-year basis, growth in the number of job vacancies slowed and the job vacancy rate held steady in the third quarter.
Financial information of community colleges and vocational schools, 2017/2018
Student fees accounted for almost 30% of the $9.1 billion in revenue that colleges raised in 2017/2018 to prepare students for today’s skills-based labour market, up from just under one quarter five years earlier. Much of the gain was attributable to the increased enrolment of international students, who pay considerably higher tuition fees than Canadians.
Aircraft movement statistics: Major airports, October 2019
Aircraft take-offs and landings at Canadian airports with NAV CANADA air traffic control towers and flight service stations increased 3.2% in October. Combined, 90 airports reported 516,624 movements, compared with 91 airports totalling 500,413 movements in October 2018.
Multimodal Safety and Security Programs Enforcement Actions and Immediate Risk Reduction Measures, Transport Canada, first quarter 2019
Transport Canada’s safety and security programs provide a broad range of activities. These include regulatory authorizations, such as the issuance of certificates and licenses to people, organizations or for equipment; compliance verifications through inspections and audits; and enforcement actions in response to non-compliance. They also include education and outreach activities targeting key stakeholders, such as regulatory bodies, as well as the general public.
Construction Union Wage Rate Index, November 2019
The Construction Union Wage Rate Index (including supplements) for Canada was unchanged in November compared with the previous month. The index for all trades (including supplements) rose 0.4% over the 12-month period ending in November.
Dairy statistics, October 2019
The total amount of milk sold off farms increased 2.2% year over year to 775 747 kilolitres in October. Meanwhile, milk sold off farms for fluid purposes increased 1.3% to 243 935 kilolitres. Milk sold off farms for industrial purposes increased 2.7% to 531 812 kilolitres.
