Control and sale of alcoholic beverages, April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021
Liquor authorities sold the equivalent of 9.7 standard alcoholic beverages a week per Canadian of legal drinking age in 2020/2021, totalling 3,180 million litres—a 2.1% increase from the previous year. This is the first full year of detailed alcohol sales data that reflect the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Experimental indexes of economic activity in the provinces and territories, October 2021
According to a principal components analysis (PCA)-based experimental activity index, the three-month moving average of the growth in provincial and territorial economic activity was positive for 8 of the 10 jurisdictions reported in October 2021. The PCA-based index shows average growth in economic activity was largest in Saskatchewan and Prince Edward Island. It was negative for Northwest Territories and Manitoba.
