Industrial product and raw materials price indexes, January 2017
The Industrial Product Price Index rose 0.4% in January, mainly due to higher prices for energy and petroleum products. The Raw Materials Price Index increased 1.7%, led by higher prices for animals and animal products.
Couriers and Messengers Services Price Index, January 2017
The Couriers and Messengers Services Price Index (CMSPI) increased 3.8% in January, largely reflecting the annual increase in base prices by major companies that typically occurs in January.
The sharing economy in Canada,
From November 2015 to October 2016, an estimated 9.5% of persons (or 2.7 million people) aged 18 and older living in Canada participated in the sharing economy by using peer-to-peer ride services or private accommodation services.
Non-residential Capital and Repair Expenditures, 2015 (revised), 2016 (preliminary) and 2017 (intentions)
Capital spending on non-residential tangible assets is anticipated to edge up 0.8% in 2017, following two consecutive annual declines. Expenditures by private sector organizations have been decreasing annually since 2014, while spending by public sector organizations has risen.
Railway carloadings, December 2016
The volume of rail freight carried in Canada totalled 29.1 million tonnes in December, up 0.1% from the same month in 2015.
Poultry and egg statistics, December 2016
Egg production rose 6.0% from December 2015 to 64.3 million dozen in December 2016.
Food services and drinking places, December 2016
Sales in the food services and drinking places subsector were down 0.2% to $5.5 billion in December, offsetting the gain from November. Weaker sales at limited-service eating places was the main contributor to the decline.
Production and disposition of tobacco products, January 2017
Canadian manufacturers produced 1.7 billion cigarettes in January, up 16.8% from December. Cigarette production increased 4.5% compared with the same month a year earlier.

Retail sales in Canada increased 2.0% from the third quarter of 2015 to $138.1 billion in the third quarter of 2016.
