Building permits, November 2016
Municipalities issued $7.8 billion worth of building permits in November, down 0.1% from the previous month. The decline was largely the result of lower construction intentions in Alberta, following a spike the previous month due to impending changes to the Alberta Building Code.
Study: Trends in the use of remand in Canada, 2004/2005 to 2014/2015
On an average day in 2014/2015, almost 6 in 10 adults being held in custody in a provincial or territorial correctional facility in Canada were in remand awaiting their trial, while 4 in 10 were serving a sentence following a conviction.
