Head office employment increased in 2019
In 2019, despite head office closures in several sectors, the number of head offices in Canada edged up 0.5% to 2,750. Similarly, head office employment increased slightly (+0.5%) to 227,680 employees.
Environmental protection expenditures by businesses, 2018
In 2018, Canadian businesses spent $9.7 billion to reduce impacts on the environment, up 15% from 2016. In Canada, 9 out of 10 businesses invested in at least one environmental protection activity.
Oilseed crushing statistics, December 2020
Oilseed processors crushed 904 577 tonnes of canola in December. Oil production totalled 397 850 tonnes, while meal production totalled 517 016 tonnes.
