Gross domestic product by industry, November 2016
Real gross domestic product rose for the fifth time in six months, up 0.4% in November. The increase in November came mainly from higher output in manufacturing, mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction, finance and insurance and construction.
Industrial product and raw materials price indexes, December 2016
The Industrial Product Price Index rose 0.4% in December, led mainly by higher prices for energy and petroleum products. The Raw Materials Price Index increased 6.5%, mainly due to higher prices for crude energy products.
Couriers and Messengers Services Price Index, December 2016
The Couriers and Messengers Services Price Index (CMSPI) increased 0.4% in December. The couriers component rose 0.6%, while the local messengers and local delivery component decreased 0.2%.
Railway carloadings, November 2016
The volume of rail freight carried in Canada totalled 31.0 million tonnes in November, up 3.9% from the same month last year.
Aircraft movement statistics: Major airports, November 2016
There were 421,781 aircraft take-offs and landings at the 91 Canadian airports with NAV CANADA air traffic control towers and flight service stations in November, compared with 415,405 movements in November 2015.
Food services and drinking places, November 2016
Total sales for the food services and drinking places subsector rose 0.4% in November to $5.5 billion. Prices for food purchased from restaurants were up 2.5% in the 12 months to November, and prices for alcoholic beverages served in licensed establishments were 1.3% higher.
Cement, November 2016
Cement manufacturers produced 1.14 million tonnes of cement products in November, down 9.9% compared with October but up 2.9% from November 2015.
