Building permits, May 2019
Following a record $9.5 billion in April, the value of permits issued by Canadian municipalities declined 13.0% to $8.2 billion in May, largely due to a drop in British Columbia. Excluding this province, the national value of permits rose 3.2%.
Study: Evolution of the language situation in Nunavut, 2001 to 2016
Today, Statistics Canada is publishing a new study entitled “Evolution of the language situation in Nunavut, 2001 to 2016.” The study provides a statistical portrait of the situation of Inuktut in Nunavut and an overview of the evolution of the main factors that drive linguistic dynamics. In addition to English and French, this analytical report is being published in Inuktitut and Inuinnaqtun.
