Canada’s international transactions in securities, March 2022
Foreign investors acquired $46.9 billion of Canadian securities in March, the largest investment since April 2020. At the same time, Canadian investors reduced their holdings of foreign securities by $24.0 billion, following a $9.9 billion divestment in February.

Investment in building construction increased by 1.8% to $20.3 billion in March. Gains were reported in both the residential (+1.7%) and the non-residential (+2.0%) sectors.

The article provides an overview on social inclusion of racialized groups under the two themes: civic engagement and political participation, and representation in decision-making positions.
Hopefulness is declining across Canada: having children or strong ties to a local community associated with a more hopeful outlook
The proportion of Canadians reporting a hopeful outlook on the future is substantially lower compared with 5 to 6 years ago. In 2016, 75% of people in Canada reported feeling hopeful about the future, compared with 64% of the population in 2021/2022.
