Drug overdose crisis: Socioeconomic characteristics of those dying of illicit drug overdoses in British Columbia, 2011 to 2016
The number of people who died from illicit drug overdoses more than doubled from 2011 to 2016 in British Columbia. They represented a diverse population, and included both people who had not been in contact with the hospital, employment, social income assistance or justice systems in the years prior to their fatal overdose, as well as those who had.
