Industrial Product Price Index: Flash estimates, October 2021
The Industrial Product Price Index (flash estimate) was up 1.3% in October. Year over year, the index rose 16.7%.
Experimental indexes of economic activity in the provinces and territories, July 2021
The three-month moving average of the growth in provincial and territorial economic activity was positive in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec in July, according to the principal component analysis-based experimental activity index. The largest growth rates were in Alberta and Ontario, while the smallest positive growth rate was in Manitoba.
Study: Labour market impacts of COVID-19 on Indigenous people: March 2020 to August 2021
A new study provides insights on the labour market impacts of COVID-19 on Indigenous people in Canada, in the eighteen-month period following the beginning of the pandemic. It reports on trends in employment, unemployment and labour force participation among Indigenous people living off reserve in the provinces and is based on the Labour Force Survey.
Study: Measuring Neighbourhood Belonging
Statistics Canada continues to use a variety of data sources to provide neighbourhood-level information on a wide and expanding range of domains, such as income, crime, services and amenities, and ambient environment. Information on the social aspects of neighbourhoods has now been added to this inventory, filling an important data gap.
English and French among educational workers in and outside of Quebec, 2011 to 2016
Today, Statistics Canada is releasing five historical data tables and two infographics on the use and knowledge of English and French by education workers in Quebec and the use and knowledge of French by education workers in Canada outside Quebec.
Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy Regional and Community-level Database Version 2.0
The peak of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic during fall 2020 led to temporary business restrictions and closures across Canada. In response, affected businesses continued to make use of the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) program to help prevent further job losses. The CEWS program is organized by CEWS claim periods set up by the Canada Revenue Agency. A CEWS claim period is the four-week period for which an eligible employer can claim the wage subsidy for their employees.
Data linkage between the 2017 General Social Survey (Family) and 2016 Tax Records
This record linkage project brings together data from the 2017 General Social Survey (GSS) and tax data from the 2016 T1 Family File (T1FF). The linked data are now available upon request in Statistics Canada’s research data centres.
